It is daunting, when you are trying to make a decision to publish your book. 

Many aspects are unclear or too out of reach. 

Self publishing is a way to go - and you enter the world of the giants. 

Self Publishing gives you access to that publishing world at your fingertips. 

The publishing world has changed for the better for all, Amazon and others have got in it too and the "Vanity Press," is now, no longer the gateway to self publishing.

The downside of going "Self Publish," is that you don't get the "Giant's set up," teams supporting the book start to finish, and sales. They leave you to be the writer and write and not worry about the business side. All this is available to a self publisher too, but at a cost from your pocket; but with the know how - it don't have to break your bank. As there are many tools and facilities available.

 

However, Amazon and the on-line "openreach" has narrowed the playing fields. 

Your books are made available to all/most Amazon regions, and available through the central distributers, such as "Gardeners & Barns Noble." 

So, coming back to the Giants, your work has to go through an Agent. 

You have to get an agent. 

You need to submit a polished manuscript to the Agent. 

So, many people are choosing to self publish an un-registered book and then submitting them to the Agents. 

Also many are Self Publishing their books and going on a journey, learning on their way and also building their profile and brand. Don't get me wrong, this journey is not easy - you then have to become a business entrepreneur - you then wear two or more hats. 

Now, when you understand what is involved - you will appreciate as much support you can get, paid or unpaid. 

If time is valuable to you, then you can get someone turn your manuscript into a book for you, ready for you to either send to agents or self publish.
